so far not visited: la corse

THIS POST IS NOT GOING TO SHEPHERD YOU ROUND LA CORSE introducing you to the phares that stud the coast of this rather lovely island (I've seen it on the telly, so I know, and we watched opening stages of Le Tour de France on the box also some years ago: it looked rather wonderful to us…).

No. I never intended to include La Corse as I haven't set foot on the island. However, I'd like to give an idea of what can be enjoyed thereupon in terms of lighthouse establishments, as I have come to understand it, and to do so via the satisfying elevations that Jean Benoît Héron has made of the lighthouses of the island.

Here they are. Of course, the concentration here is solely on the phares themselves: the locations of most of these lights brings even more enjoyment, understanding and pleasure.

Is Les Moines a phare? Discuss. And Cap Feno cannot be considered a phare. Give your reasons.

Reference to The Lighthouse Directory will assist you to find out where on Corsica the phares are located, as well as confirming (or otherwise) JBH's success in illlustrating all the real lighthouses of the island (or otherwise). I am sure you'll manage, here is the link again, The Lighthouse Directory.

I am on holiday at the moment… feel free to let me know just how you got on…
